I found this drone 3d model, what’s nice about this one is it’s available for commercial usage.

I would love to have the money to buy all the parts for this. There’s even an instructables with detailed instructions. I think it would be able to carry a taser, speaker and microphone, and ai enabled camera to detect a gun while at it’s charging station.

I found a bunch of drones not labeled for commercial use, but free to make for personal use.

It might be required to buy carbon fiber frames if PETG is not strong enough to withstand repeated landing and flying. Also, I think with a fancy printer you can print carbon fiber. I have a Crealty Ender v3.

I also found a subreddit where they mentioned carbon fiber frames.

I subscribed to this subreddit.

I found a free grass plugin temperate vegetation and added some grass to the game.

I’m not done yet. I’ve been painting mostly one side with different grass types. It’s fun/easy and I’m surprised it can load thousands of meshes and not be slow. Unreal Engine is cool. Only problem is I have to pay for Git LFS from GitHub. I started paying for it after adding the cars and trees plugins. I was dumb and did openspace-swift under my name public which uses git lfs and this game under my llc’s name private, so I need to pay double for Git LFS from GitHub. I was thinking of a build server and it should definitely not start from scratch checking out the project each time it builds. It should just do a git pull and make sure there are no local changes. I’ve used Jenkins before. I’m running out of space on my Windows/Ubuntu through WSL PC.

I tried Adobe Substance 3d viewer

I opened a birds fbx file from fab (the new unreal engine marketplace), and it played the animation and I could see the textures.

I tried to open an animated fbx from Mixamo (Mixamo is owned by Adobe) and it didn’t display the animation but it did display the mesh. That’s funny that birds work, but not Adobe’s own fbx files. The animation plays fine in Unreal Engine. I have some other issues with Mixamo as well. I have to post some questions to their forum.

Next I tried to open the ~30 mb infinigen indoor usd scene. It took about a minute to open, but it looks great.

This was done on my Windows machine. If I need it, I’ll install it for Mac too.

Added the start of a taser to the game

Working on my game again during my favorite time of day… after midnight. I added the ability to shoot a taser. I have work to do later. Making the character randomly drop the gun after tased, better animation vs the red debug there now, have the character fall on ground.. then more stuff to come.

View usdz, fbx files using new Adobe app.

I can’t view fbx animation files from mixamo on Windows. They open in Unreal Engine but Autodesk viewer doesn’t work.

Same with usd files. I tried using usdview from pixar but the 30 mb usd file from Infinigen is loaded so slowly, hangs my mac.

I saw a new 3d graphics viewer from Adobe. I am going to try it out. Looks like it works with fbx and usd files. I wonder if it shows animations.
